Animal Genetic Resources aims to provide education and carry out research which can contribute to the improvement of the useful traits in animals through the approaches of genetic evaluation and analysis. This includes the estimation of heritability for economically important traits or development of new measures and schemes for efficient and sustainable improvement especially in Japanese domestic beef breeds "Wagyu".
Our laboratory is located in the actual food production field, at the "Food Resources Education and Research Center". Through making good use of the location we can conduct a wide range of research and education directly relating to the breeding and fattening of Wagyu cattle.
